Long Hair

Long Hair by Swedish artist and design Jenny Walhult explores character and depth through simple gesture and soft tones. Set against a textural backdrop, a single figure is formed through the use of negative space – long hair in dark brown and light brown clothes gesturing towards an absent women’s face and body. Her subtle use of water colors creates a composition that is simple yet full of depth and texture.

Hailing from a small island off the southern Swedish city of Gotenburg, artist and designer Jenny Wallhult has been based in Stockholm for the past thirteen years. Working within graphic design having earlier studied fine arts, her growing artistic practice provides a platform for her to explore form, color and technique within her unique expressive style. Whilst creating simple and minimal compositions, the use of watercolors creates unexpected forms and textures - embraced by Wallhult as the element within her work that provides depth and character.
