Return Policy

At Teak New York we stand behind the quality of our products and want every purchase to be a positive experience. If you need to make a return we are happy to help. Please review your item(s) upon delivery. Retain packaging if you are considering a return. If there are any issues with your order please email within 14-days of receipt. 

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item. We will evaluate the issue and make it right.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return most items, see non-returnable section for a list of items ineligible for return. 

Return Authorization

To begin the process for return please reach out to for a return authorization. We will not be able to accept any returns made without an authorization accompanying the return. Returned merchandise must be in original packaging, in resell-able condition and not installed. If packaging is not in resell-able condition a $200 restocking fee will be added for OMHU products. All other items will incur a 10% restocking fee.

Return of goods must be freight prepaid by the customer. Please see below for more details.

If a product is received in poor condition due to unsatisfactory packaging, the client will be charged for repair and/or replacement for the fixtures. For this reason, we strongly advise you to use an insured, trackable shipping method to return items. Items must be received by us within 15 calendar days from when we issue the return authorization or you will not receive any credit for your return. 

Shipping fees will not be included in the refund under any circumstance.

If the return arrives in specified condition, a full refund will be given. 

Non-returnable items

Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), or personal care goods (such as beauty products). Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. 

Lighting that has been installed cannot be returned. This applies to all pendant, wall, and ceiling fixtures.

Sale items, gift cards, or display items are not eligible for return. 


We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know the status of your refund. If the return is approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Returning Items

Return of goods must be freight prepaid by the customer. For any item, the customer is responsible for a safe return of their purchase. You can either deliver the goods personally to our storefront at 42 West Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 during our open hours, or items can be mailed back to our location.

For our furniture items and OMHU Collection, if the customer is unable to bring the item back to us, we can arrange shipping on behalf of the customer. The return shipping cost for NY, NJ, PA, CT, MD, DE, and DC is $300. Please note the original shipping cost will not be refunded. If the furniture is located outside of the above mentioned area, the return shipping will be the same as the original shipping cost. (For example, shipping to Washington state is $700, so return shipping will also be $700.) As mentioned before, customers are also able to coordinate their own shipping back to our storefront, but will be responsible for it's safe return.
