Kyrr Vase II by Icelandic designer and artist Kristín Sigurðardóttir is a combination of simple forms and playful patterns. A vase is created by two rounded shapes stacked on top of one another. Mixing digital techniques with traditional methods of painting, the composition provides a new take on still life compositions. The vases playful black and white pattern pops against a neutral backdrop of both solid and patterned surfaces.
Originally from northern Iceland, Kristín Sigurðardóttir is a designer based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Her work extends across various fields including visual arts and textile in addition to product and material design, focusing mainly on upcycling and sustainability. Combining digital techniques with manual methods, her work often reworks traditional motives into contemporary compositions.
