The Red Vase

The Red Vase by Netherlands based artist and designer Anne Olde Kalter is a celebration of color, life and positivity. Featuring two kissing bird motifs on the base of the rounded vase, shades of pink and red allow the bold blue flowers to almost jump out of the frame. Full of rounded and organic forms, the composition pulls from the open skies and rolling hills of Kalter’s home in the Dutch countryside.

Creating work with a feminine energy and power, the paintings of Anne Olde Kalter balance the strength of bold forms with the use of vulnerable line work. Inspired and grounded by the Dutch nature surrounding her home north of Amsterdam, her work takes the organic forms and soft tones of her environment, translating them through richly textured compositions. Abstract yet familiar, her work balances notions of fragility and power to create a captivating catalogue.
