The fire tools in the FIRE-WORKS series is designed by the Swedish design duo Broberg & Ridderståle. The stylish tools are hand-cast and fit all types of fireplaces. The set consists of a shovel, fork, and a handmade brush made of oak and horsehair. Fire-works is a series of objects that are based on fire in the home. From the small atmospheric candlestick to the heat-spreading fireplace.
The different parts of the fire tool are cast by hand in sand molds completely according to traditional craft techniques. The sand molds are created for each individual casting, which gives small variations between the products. The brush is made together with Iris Hantverk, where each brush is drawn by hand by skilled craftsmen who lack sight.
The idea behind the design was to compress and refine the fireplace's tools to the most essential to facilitate handling without compromising on function. The goal was to create an uncomplicated, neat fire stand in solid materials that complements both the fireplace and the room's interior.
With clear and simple shapes, the tools form a beautiful composition when hung on the stand, which contributes to order around the fireplace and constitutes a beautiful detail in the room.
In contrast to the black cast iron, the handmade brush is crafted from oak and horsehair. The semi-circular shape complements the shovel and fits just as well in the hand as it does in its given place in the base of the stand.
